Any one may join with a $10 membership fee. Meetings are held the last Tuesday of the month in the Garnavillo Community Center at six p.m. The committee has set goals to support and improve the business community and the appearance of Garnavillo, “The Gem Of The Prairie”.

Many people in Garnavillo strive to have neat yards and homes, so the GEIDC members are starting a project called “GEMS OF GARNAVILLO” and plan on highlighting, on their Facebook page, the outstanding properties that display fall, Halloween and winter/holiday décor. Photos will be posted on the GEIDC Facebook page periodically and viewers will be asked to select their favorite décor. In the spring and summer months photos of attractive flower beds, container arrangements and individual plants will be posted. We invite residents to take pride in their property by planting flowers, seasonal outdoor decorating and pulling those pesky weeds with the chance to be selected as "GEMS OF GARNAVILLO" on the GEIDC Facebook page.
